I was planning a bridal shower with seven other women for the future daughter-in-law of a very special friend. We had all been involved in planning many showers and knew what it would take to make this one look special. We were discussing the menu, flowers, seating arrangements, and decorations when I had an idea. We had not received our first shipment yet, but I had quite a few of our samples in the trunk of my car. I told the girls about our new business and explained that I had some of the serving platters with me. I said that I would understand if they didn’t want to use them, but offered to let them see them and decide. Their responses blew me away! They loved everything, and not only wanted to use them, but to buy them for themselves.
We used the beautiful Swimmingly Fish Platter for the salmon, but had a small problem. The salmon was too large for the platter! We decided to put half of the salmon on the red woven oval platter. We used a woven cereal bowl for the sauce between the two platters, and created a beautiful combination.
The Verdura Eggplant Platter was just right for the scoops of chicken salad. The Verdura Tomato Bowl made a gorgeous salad presentation. We used a Lime Woven shallow bowl for fruit and added a white Woven cereal bowl in the middle with assorted berries.
We served quiches on the Galax and Cauliflower platters.
The shower was perfect and everyone commented on the beautiful table and platters. As a bonus, there was no chipping and the melamine platters were so easy to transport.
I was really thrilled with my first experience using our new melamine serving pieces! Because we are so close to these products, I worried that maybe I was viewing them through rose colored glasses. However, not only did I think they looked great and were so easy to use, but everyone attending commented on how great these serving pieces were without even knowing about our business. Stay tuned….I will let you know how it goes at my next big event!
